I graduated from Hampton University on May 11th 2008 with honors and a B.A. in print journalism and a minor in English. In addition to my internship with Teen People Magazine, I have freelanced for harlemlive.org online publication and interned with Clarke Times Courier local news section in Berryville, Va. I have also created maintained most written communications including brochures, drafting e-mails and other communications necessary at Registrar Corp in Hampton, Va and developed strategic plans based on research statistics on child care at the Day Care Council of New York in New York, NY. I have also developed my skills by participating in NABJ workshop and Baruch College workshop where at each workshop I wrote for their newspaper. At NABJ, I was assigned to be a weather girl as we created our own news station. At Hampton University, I was reporter and arts and entertainment editor of the college newspaper the Hampton Script and editor in chief of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism's newsletter Mass Media Monitor. I was a member of NAACP as special events chair, NABJ, Golden Key Honor Society, Student Recruitment Team, Academy Writing for Excellence and still a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. In the future I hope to become a successful journalist as well as a publisher of my own magazine. With my talents, passion for writing, and the ability to take directions, work on deadline and dedication, I hope to learn more in the field of journalism with any job I receive.
